This review started off its journey into life thanks to the help of two subscribers/friends of the channel. Lorfarius got in touch, and shared the great idea of using the Levelator 2 software to automatically balance my narration. I couldnt wait to try this, so I got to work narrating the next planned review - 8 bit killer - straight after the upload of the previous video. At the same time, I was chatting with KRAFTWERK2K6 (credited as Mike Scholz in the review). He was enjoying the mind-blowing Prodigy mixes I shared in the Chart Hits in Amiga Module Format video, and sent me some more, including the very crazy Rock With Wolfenstein Mod, which I knew would be perfect for this game.

At first I thought the Levelator seemed to solve all my problems, but on closer playback, I found it only boosted the ranges to allow for a wider volume, rather than actually boosting the quiet parts, and ducking the loud parts, to a very narrow band. So in the end I ended up going through the whole thing manually as usual, so it didnt save me 6 hours of work after all. The narration seems thicker, so I may use it as part of my arsenal. The volume of this review (as always) was aimed towards the middle of your youtube volume control.

After this review was in the in the can, I played the game again in Super High Res Interlaced mode, with an A4000 040, and the speed was much faster than in this review. So this review may have been recorded with an A1200 with fast ram config. I wanted to re-recorded the whole thing again in fast Super High Res, only this time playing faster, and without so much walking around looking for exists. But apart from the exploring, I felt that this original first try video was more interesting, and I didnt want to re-record the whole narration again, and balance it all.

6:20 - This bit about John Romero was meant to be a little more extended in context. This reference comes from the interviews where he says "People say I killed off your [Amiga] platform". Basically I was saying the Amiga still lives, while its contemporaries of the time, the AT/XT PC, is long dead. Nobody is pulling out their IBM PS/2 to play The Secret of Monkey Island, on a black and white or even green phosphorous monitor. So in a way, Doom killed off the old IBM PC dinosaurs, and soon it was all about the Pentium. While Amiga games like Lotus 2 can be played on any Amiga from 1987 upwards no problem.

This week I had a letter from youtube saying that as I didnt have 1000 subs last year, only 886, so I would have to lose the small amount from adsence I used to make. I wont be making any pleas for new subs, or Patreon requests (after the last two failed attempts), but if you do happen to read this and would like to sub to this channel, perhaps it would help to change youtubes mind. :)

Dance, Dance..
